Threads of Saffron brings to life a love for the exotic and the fragrant. Inspired on a trip to Italy, creator Georgie Houniet has taken her favourite memory of women collecting saffron threads in a cobbled Lane way in Tuscany and turned it into a delicious range of saffron infused condiments and delicacies. Georgie loves saffron for its unique perfume and subtle flavour, its timeless role in the history of spices and its unchanging handpicked harvesting methods. How long have you been making your products? I have been in business for nearly 3 years. How did you get started? The seed (or spice) was planted upon a trip to Italy and watching the mummas plucking saffron threads from a huge pan on a cobbled street in Tuscany. What is your greatest inspiration? My greatest inspiration is watching the joy on people’s faces when they eat food they love. What is the greatest challenge to owning and operating your own business? Greatest challenge is time. What is the best thing about owning your own creative business? Best thing about owning my business is the flexibility, getting to cook wonderful food for people, meeting people who buy my products. |
