Max & Me Designs
Max & Me Designs opened for business in early 2012 when Stacey's son, Max, was only 4 months old. While her postage stamp artwork began as nursery decor the range quickly developed to include designs that appeal to everyone, whether young or simply young at heart.
Each piece of art is a one of a kind & makes a wonderful keepsake gift to celebrate the arrival of a new baby, birthdays, christenings, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Mother's Day or Father's Day. Or you may just want a special treat for yourself.
Every design has been lovingly hand-crafted by Stacey over several days. A lot of time goes into making each artwork truly special with great care taken in the selection of the stamps & their place in the design. Every stamp has a tale to tell & on the back of your artwork you will find a story about one of the Vintage stamps featured in your artwork.
The Max & Me Designs jewellery range showcases some of the most beautiful stamps in the world. The depth of colour is magnified by the crystal clear domed glass cabochon creating a truly unique piece of jewellery. They’re certain to be a conversation starter!
How long have you been making your artwork?
Max & Me Designs began in early 2012 when my son, Max, was only a few months old.
How did you get started?
Max & Me Designs all began when I was looking for a unique piece of art to hang in my son’s nursery. While cleaning out the cupboards I came across my old stamp album & decided to use the stamps featuring boats, cars, trains, sports & animals to create something as special & unique as my new baby boy. And so the very first Max & Me Design was born... The original piece, a monogram of the letter M, still has pride of place in his room.
What is your greatest inspiration?
I gather my inspiration from the stamps themselves. Often a beautiful image on a stamp will lead me to create a new artwork design. I love being able to take something so small and insignificant & reincarnate it into something truly beautiful & unique.
What is the greatest challenge to owning and operating your own business?
Trying to juggle being a mum, wife, primary school teacher, designer & small business owner is hard work. I couldn’t do it without the support of my wonderful family & friends who help keep me sane & pop by occasionally to help sort the thousands of stamps I use to create my designs!
What is the best thing about owning your own creative business?
It’s been so empowering running my own business. I love being to express my creative side & follow the design process from start to finish.
